By Brian Hews

Details of yesterday’s violent shooting death at a Hawaiian Gardens business continue to unfold, some 24 hours after the grizzly crime was committed.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau announced that detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a male adult which occurred on Monday at approximately 4:45 p.m., in the 12300 block of Carson Street in Hawaiian Gardens.

Detectives have learned that the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head and are awaiting for the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner’s Office to identify the victim.

Detectives have also learned that Lakewood Sheriff’s Station received a call of an open business which had all its lights turned off. When deputies arrived at the location, they searched the business and discovered the victim at the rear of the location.

One resident who lives near the location told Los Cerritos Community Newspaper that he is “in a state of shock” about the violent crime. “All of us are saddened and very upset about this violent murder. Who would do something like this, we are all very scared,” the source told LCCN on condition that her name not be published.

The name of the victim has not been released.
