Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives responded to the San Gabriel River at Foster Road to investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing death of a man that occurred on Sunday, October 28, 2012.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives have learned that on Sunday, October 28, 2012, at approximately 8:10PM , Downey Police Department officers responded to a 9-1-1 call of a “person stabbed” on the West side of the San Gabriel River at Foster Road, Downey. Upon their arrival, Downey Police officers discovered the victim, 46-year-old male Hispanic, lying unconscious on the West side of the San Gabriel River.
According to witnesses, the victim was walking along the East side of the San Gabriel River, Norwalk, when he was approached by 1-3 male Hispanics. One of the males attacked the victim and stabbed him with a knife.
The victim ran from the suspect and collapsed on the West side of the river. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Lieutenant Corina said “since the stabbing occurred in the jurisdiction of Norwalk Sheriff’s Station, Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau will be conducting the investigation.”
