A violent car accident in Norwalk claimed the life of 20-year-old resident Daniel Ortiz who succumbed to injuries he sustained after he was struck by a vehicle while riding a skateboard at Studebaker Road and Foster Road.
Ortiz died at 4:20 a.m. early Saturday morning, according to Captain Patrick Maxwell of the Norwalk Sheriff’s Station.
Maxwell told LCCN that “the suspect vehicle was traveling north bound on Studebaker Road in the number one lane when it struck the victim while he was riding his skateboard.”
Maxwell went on to tell Los Cerritos Community Newspaper that “the suspect vehicle continued north bound and fled the scene.”
The suspect vehicle is being described as a metallic blue Nissan (NFD) based on the debris left behind at the scene. No witnesses were located, Maxwell said.
