Traffic investigators are asking for the public’s help in solving a hit-and-run accident that injured a 13 year-old boy who was riding his bike in Bellflower in June.
The collision occurred on the morning of June 27, at approximately 6:50 am. The bicyclist was crossing Woodruff Avenue, while eastbound on Somerset Boulevard, when he was struck by a tan 4-door sedan. Witnesses said the driver of the car appeared to be aware of the collision, as the car momentarily slowed and the driver looked in the victim’s direction before fleeing north on Woodruff Avenue.
The driver is described as a male of Indian or Pacific Islander descent. Witnesses also reported seeing children seated in the back of the car.
The bicyclist was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
