An alleged stalker of Hollywood star Jeff Goldblum has been arrested on charges that she may have violated the terms and conditions of a restraining order.
“Last night, November 2, 2012, a sheriff’s deputy from County Services Bureau of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was flagged down near the Ahmanson Theatre (135 N. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles) by Music Center Security Department personnel. Security personnel were detaining a woman for possible violation of a restraining order,” Lieutenant Denise Stephenson said in a press statement on Saturday afternoon.
“The deputy contacted the informant who pointed out 50-year-old Suspect Linda Ransom, a Glendale resident, and said she was within 20 yards of Mr. Jeff Goldblum. The informant explained there was a court order that the suspect stays 100 yards away from Goldblum,” said Stephenson.
The informant furnished the deputy with a valid copy of a Civil Harassment Restraining Order (Los Angeles Superior Court Order).
The deputy reviewed the restraining order and saw that Ransom was in violation of the order. He arrested Suspect Ransom for Knowingly Violate a Restraining Order (273.6(a) CA Penal Code). She was booked at East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station where she is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
