Infante Charged with Wife’s Murder

POMONA – A West Covina man was charged by the District Attorney’s office today with murdering his wife, whose body was found in her vehicle abandoned at a Hawaiian Gardens casino parking lot.

Tomas Rodriguez Infante, 60, was charged in Case No. KA 100655 with one count of murder. Bail was recommended at $1 million. The defendant was to appear today in Department N, Pomona Superior Court, for arraignment.

The body of Charito Tolentino, Infante’s wife, was found Jan. 13 in the back of her vehicle, which had been left in the parking lot of the Hawaiian Gardens Casino. Authorities said she died from blunt force trauma and stabbing type injuries.

Infante was arrested by West Covina police and Sheriff’s homicide investigators Monday after a search warrant was served at the couple’s home.

Deputy District Attorney Manuel Garcia, in charged of the Victim Impact Program in Pomona filed the case. Deputy District Attorney Casey Higgins was assigned to prosecute.

If convicted as charged, Infante faces a maximum sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole.
