Norwalk Sheriff’s Arrest Eduardo Orozco on Suspicion Of Murdering 6-Month old Daughter

By Brian Hews

The Norwalk Sheriff’s Department has arrested a local 20-year-old man on suspicion that he murdered his own 6-month-old daughter.

Sheriff’s officials said in a statement Sunday that the girl had been left in the care of her father Eduardo Orozco in a home in the Whittier area on May 5 when she was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.  The Norwalk Sheriff’s Department officially serves as the law enforcement agency in this part of Los Angeles County.

A statement issued to members of the media on Sunday night indicates that the child had apparent blunt-force injuries, and homicide detectives began an investigation that led to Orozco’s arrest.

Orozco was arrested late Saturday night.

No further details on the investigation have been released.

Orozco was being held without bail at Norwalk Sheriff’s Station.

Los Cerritos Community Newspaper will have updates on this situation throughout the week.
