The La Mirada Girls Softball Association (10u Gold All-Star Team) continues its seasons with an extremely impressive record. The team of nine and ten year olds began the season with wins at the Mirada Madness Tournament over the Memorial Day Weekend and continued strong by winning both the Peninsula Cool Breeze tournament in San Diego and the Chino Hills Summer Classic Tournament.

The team recently won the LA/South Bay District championship tournament in Long Beach that now qualifies them to compete in the state tournament, which is being held in Lancaster from July 5th through the 7th. The team has dominated its league, keeping an impressive record of 23-2 record and a fifteen game winning streak as they prepare to take on the statewide competition.

The team specializes in its pitching and defense, which has proven to be an instrumental part of its success. The teams has allowed two runs or less in nineteen of their games and has recorded eight shut outs with pitching from Emma Frazier, Emma Viayra, Jaelyn Pantages and Sarah Veloz.

The team is also supported by Josie DiPillo’s catching skills. The team’s defense remains strong, with infielders being led by Savannah Adams, Kennedi Houshmandzadeh, Kayla Carrilo, and Maylene Juarez along with outfielders Lilly Orozco, Alexia Rosales and Atrid Arevalo.

Offensively the team has been strong throughout the each tournament with each girl contributing at various times throughout the season where they’ve continued to outscore their opponents 176 to 46.

The La Mirada 10u Gold team opens up the 32 team state championship tournament against Placentia/Yorba Linda with hopes of qualify for the ASA B Western Nationals tournament in Peoria, Arizona July 30th through August 4th.
