UPDATED: A spokesman for the California Highway Patrol told members of the media that the shooting on the 91 Freeway appears to have been a “targeted shooting.”
At least one or possibly two suspects left the scene on the 91 Freeway in an awaiting car.
One of the cars involved in the shooting was registered to a resident in Bell Gardens.
Several members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and California Highway Patrol are on the scene as of 11:08 p.m. investigating the crime.

This is BREAKING NEWS!
Two people were shot and wounded on a busy freeway connecting Bellflower and Cerritos on Thursday night resulting in the closure of both the 91 and 605 Freeways.
Several news agencies are reporting that two armed men ran across the freeway shooting and began “shooting” at around 8:45 p.m.
It was not known if the gunmen targeted specific vehicles or fired at random.
Two people were rushed to Francis Medical Center in Lynwood, one is in critical condition, the second was shot in the elbow, CHP officials said.
After the shooting, the suspects got into a grey sedan and drove away.
