Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male adult and the wounding of another, which occurred at approximately 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 31,2013, in the City of Hawaiian Gardens.
Detectives have learned that deputies responded to the 21400 block of Norwalk Boulevard, Hawaiian Gardens, regarding a gunshot victim at the location. Upon arrival, deputies saw a silver Dodge Durango SUV had collided against a telephone pole.
Inside the vehicle were two adults who were suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a local hospital where victim 1, M/B 43, was pronounced dead. Victim 2, M/B 30, was treated for his injuries and is expected to survive.
According to witnesses, the victims were driving southbound on Norwalk Boulevard, from Centralia Avenue, when the suspect drove alongside the victims’ vehicle and started shooting into their car.
Once the victims’ vehicle collided against the telephone pole, the suspect continued to drive South on Norwalk Boulevard and out of view. The suspect is a male Black adult, and was seen driving a dark colored pick-up truck.
