Today, Los Angeles County Assessor Jeffrey Prang convened the first meeting of his transition team. City Controller Ron Galperin, Speaker Emeritus John Perez and Civil Rights Attorney Connie Rice will co-chair the transition team, charged with reviewing the Office’s strategies and initiatives.
“I have great respect for the transition team and its co-chairs; they offer enormous experience and credibility that will be of great benefit to the Office,” said Assessor Prang. “I’m very pleased they have agreed to work with our office during this exciting time.” The team includes local and national business leaders, community advocates, nonprofit leaders and executives from the Assessor’s Office.
The team will work with Prang to establish priorities, examine opportunities, and most importantly, to ensure greater transparency. They will develop recommendations that will ensure the Prang Administration will be accountable, responsive and innovative.

Jeffrey Prang is the 27th Assessor of the County of Los Angeles. He is responsible for an annual operating budget of approximately $160 million, and a staff of over 1,300 appraisers, managers, and support personnel throughout Los Angeles County. With over 20 years of public service, Mr. Prang has extensive background in city, county, and state government. He previously served as a member of the Executive Staff in the Los Angeles County Office of the Assessor for two Assessor administrations, as an Assistant City Manager for the City of Pico Rivera, and as a mayor and councilmember for the City of West Hollywood for nearly 18 years.
