The LA DA charged a Long Beach man with robbery burglary and possession of a firearm by a felon in connection with two burglaries in Long Beach last month.
Authorities said Tajiye Muhommad was burglarizing a home on the 6600 block of Indiana Avenue the morning of June 17 when the resident came in and caught him.
Muhommad allegedly pointed a handgun at the victim who fled.
Long Beach police were dispatched to the burglary call.
During the investigation, robbery detectives learned the same suspect had allegedly committed a separate burglary on the 6600 block of Indiana Avenue earlier in the day.
Detectives were also able to identify Muhommad as the suspect and on Friday, July 3, they received an anonymous tip that Muhommad often frequents the area of Locust Avenue and 21st Street.
They arrested Muhommad without incident.
The investigation also led detectives to a residence in the 1100 block of Centralia Road in Hawaiian Gardens that had evidence related to the robbery.
SWAT officers entered the house in at the Hawaiian Gardens on Tuesday, July 7, and found three firearms.
