Compton to Hold Special Meeting Today To Place Taxes on November Ballot

Today at 3:30 p.m., the Compton City Council will meet to debate three proposed measures for the November ballot.

On would increase the city’s sales tax by 1 percent to fund street repairs.

Another would tie council members’ salaries to the median income of residents.

And the third would give the mayor sole discretion to hire and fire the city manager.
