Man Shot and Killed in Norwalk, Suspect in Custody

A man in his 40s was shot and killed today in Norwalk and one person – believed to be the shooter – was in custody, sheriff’s officials said. 

The death was reported just after 1 p. m. in the 11400 block of Lindale Street, according to Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau. 

Deputies responded to a family disturbance call and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound, Sgt. Jack Jordan of the sheriff’s Norwalk Station told the Whittier Daily News. 

Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. A man believed to be the shooter was detained and no other suspects were being sought, Jordan told the newspaper. Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives were dispatched to investigate the death, Navarro-Suarez said.

A man in his 40s was shot and killed at his home in Norwalk today and his sister’s boyfriend, who also lived at the residence, was taken into custody, sheriff’s officials said. The death was reported just after 1 p. m. in the 11400 block of Lindale Street, according to Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau. Deputies responded to an assault-with-a-deadly weapon call and found the victim with a gunshot wound to his upper body, Navarro-Suarez said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. “Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim lived at the residence with his sister and her boyfriend,” Navarro-Suarez said. The boyfriend was detained pending further investigation, she said. Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives were investigating the death, Navarro-Suarez said.
