Sacramento – To celebrate Women’s History in March, Senator Tony Mendoza (D-Artesia) seeks nominations of women who are making a difference in their communities for his 2016 Woman of the Year for the 32nd Senate District. Nominations are needed in the following categories: Business, Community Service, Education, Government, Health, Labor and Non-Profits.
“I invite members and organizations in the community to nominate women who have demonstrated dedication and commitment to the values of Women’s History Month and made a positive impact through their work,” said Senator Tony Mendoza. “It is important to honor and celebrate the work of deserving women who are making a difference in the communities of the 32nd Senate District.”
To submit a nomination, please e-mail to [email protected], the attached form and a paragraph highlighting the person’s community involvement and contributions. Nomination forms may also be found and submitted online at Senator Mendoza’s website: http://sd32.senate.ca.gov/2016-woman-year

The seven award-winning women will be honored at a community luncheon on Friday, March 4 at the Cerritos Library hosted by Senator Mendoza.
Every March in a tradition dating back to 1987, the Senate celebrates Women’s History Month by honoring women throughout California whose contributions improve their communities.
