Local Rotary Club Receives Special Honor

Local Rotary Club Receives Special Honor By Larry Caballero CAPTION: The Rotary Club of Cerritos-Artesia was presented with a special banner at its regular meeting Feb 8 for having all of its members contribute at least $100 to the Rotary Foundation in 2014~2015. President Sug Kitahara accepts the honor from the Assistant Governor Lauren Pittman on behalf of the club. The Rotary Foundation transforms gifts into projects that change lives both close to home and around the world. As the charitable arm of Rotary, it taps into a global network of Rotarians who invest their time, money, and expertise into priorities, such as eradicating polio and promoting peace. “Foundation grants empower Rotarians to approach challenges such as poverty, illiteracy, and malnutrition with sustainable solutions that leave a lasting impact,” said Kitahara.
