Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man that occurred on Saturday, May 28, 2016, in the 22300 block of Joliet Avenue, Hawaiian Gardens.
Detectives have learned that deputies responded to the location regarding a “man down” call. When they arrived on scene, they found the victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Witnesses stated that a dark colored vehicle was seen driving North on Joliet Avenue. The vehicle approached the victim, at which time an occupant fired multiple rounds at the victim striking him in the upper torso. The vehicle then fled out of view.
At this time, there is no description of the suspects. The investigation is on-going.
