(PICO RIVERA, CA) This week Pico Rivera Mayor Pro Tem Bob Archuleta announced his candidacy for the Central Basin Water Board Division 1. Central Basin Water Board Division 1 consist of cities of Bell Gardens, Downey, Montebello, Pico Rivera, West Whittier-Los Nietos, and unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County and the election is November 8, 2016.
“Given the current water crisis, we need to protect one of our most precious resources, our water. We need to make sure our children and families will have affordable, clean and reliable water. Failed leadership, along with mismanagement has lead State and Federal agencies to audit and investigate this water agency and demand immediate change in its governing practices.
I understand the importance of civil service, giving back and protecting our community and families. For years the general public has asked for change. I believe I am uniquely qualified to clean up and reform this agency.” said Candidate, Bob Archuleta. Bob J. Archuleta is a family man, small business owner, Pico Rivera Councilmember and a Presidential Appointee to the United States Military Academy at West Point. Mr. Archuleta isa former Montebello Police Reserve Officer, Los Angeles County Commissioner of Military and Veteran Affairs for over 24 years, and a Veteran and former paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division.
Bob was elected to the Pico Rivera City Council in March 2007 and is currently the Mayor Pro Tem. In September 2015 he was appointed by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to the Assessment Appeals Board. Bob has received Congressional Recognition Awards and Proclamations for Service and has been recognized by the Vietnam Veterans of America, Hispanic American Airborne Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars and 11th Airborne Division Association.
