A 22-year-old woman from Hawaiian Gardens who was killed in a crash in which a vehicle caught fire on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway in Seal Beach was identified Saturday by the Orange County coroner’s office.
The crash that claimed the life of Joanna Leyva was reported at 1:49 a.m. Friday, near Seal Beach Boulevard, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Leyva’s vehicle slammed into a sign, causing the car and the sign to catch fire, according to a report from the scene.
Leyva died at the scene, according to the CHP. No other injuries were reported.
