Two shootings occurred within 20 minutes of each other in Artesia, one of them was fatal, Artesia Deputies wrote in a statement.
The past Saturday night, deputies responding to a call about a gunshot victim on the 11800 block of Arkansas Street.
The 11800 block of Arkansas St (1), 20 minutes earlier, a man was shot at Clarkdale and 168th (2).
Deputies located a man in front of a home with gunshot wounds.
The man was taken to a local hospital, where died.
Just 20 minutes earlier, Deputies received a call about another shooting that occurred nearby at Clarkdale Avenue and 168th Street.
That man was struck by gunfire but it was not non-life-threatening. The man could not identify the shooter nor was a gun found.
Sheriff’s homicide detectives asked anyone with information regarding the shootings to call them at (323) 890-5500.
