Los Angeles, CA – On Friday, Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-40) met with Los Angeles Archbishop José H. Gomez at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels for a discussion of the humanitarian crisis at America’s southern border, as well as other issues. As Chairwoman of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, the congresswoman shares Archbishop Gomez’s support for the dignity and rights of migrants. The congresswoman and archbishop talked about their mutual work on behalf of the immigrant community, and the challenges of the upcoming 2020 Census. During the meeting, the archbishop presented the congresswoman with a signed copy of his book “Immigration and the Next America: Renewing the Soul of Our Nation.”
