WELCOME TO THE 2019-20 SCHOOL YEAR

Dr. Mary Sieu

BY ABCUSD Superintendent Dr. Mary Sieu

As we embark upon a new school year, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Welcome” to all our students and families in the ABC Unified School District.

I hope that everyone had a relaxing and memorable summer with family and friends.

For our students returning to school, it’s a time filled with anticipation and excitement as they prepare to reacquaint themselves with friends, to develop new relationships, and to enter the next grade level at their school.

For new students, we look forward to working with each of you as you begin your experience in ABC Unified School District.

Focusing on teaching and learning will remain the hallmarks of the ABC Unified School District.

We are fortunate to offer a myriad of outstanding educational opportunities for students to pursue such as the S.T.E.M. Program, Career Technical Education Pathways, Visual and Performing Arts Programs, Model United Nations Program and Dual Language Programs to name a few.

We continue to be very excited about the progress being made academically.

This is our core purpose and it is reflected through the unwavering efforts of our excellent staff who work with our students and families every day of the school year.

Our Governance Board approved the revisions to our District’s Strategic Plan for 2019-22 and its focus on maintaining academic excellence.

Throughout the year, we will continue to communicate information about the District through my monthly column, the District’s website at www.abcusd.us and the District’s bimonthly e-newsletter called the District Digest.

You may also follow me on Twitter: @abcsupt or friend us on Facebook to learn more about what is happening in the District.

To all of our students, parents, staff and community members, “Welcome Back!”

We all have an important role to play in the success of our students and I look forward to working closely with you throughout the 2019-20 school year.
