Businessman Sultan “Sam” Ahmad is running for State Assembly from the new 58th District for one main reason, to create jobs, jobs, and more jobs.
The Cerritos resident has spent his entire adult life as a businessman with international companies such as Thomas Cooke Travel in the United Kingdom, and is determined to help bring new employment opportunities to California if he is elected to the State Assembly.
Ahmad, is the father of two, and has been married for more than 26 years and has been active in many civic affairs including serving on the Cerritos Let Freedom Ring Committee and active in both the Artesia Chamber of Commerce and Cerritos Chamber of Commerce.
“I want to give back to my community and to California, and running for Assembly provides me the opportunity to help make a greater difference for so many people who are currently experiencing tough times,” Ahmad said.
Ahmad is also a real estate broker, and was urged to run for Assembly by several close friends and community members. “I have always been active, and we need new leaders in Sacramento,” he told Los Cerritos Community Newspaper in an interview last week.
He said his campaign has been “going great” and has a core group of nearly thirty volunteers whom he said are “active in helping” his efforts.
“The reaction has been great. Voters tell me that, Sam, you have been involved in the community and you understand our needs and concerns,” he said. “Voters are going from (political) party to party, and my request to the people is to look at all the candidates, no mater of what party you belong, and just vote for the right person who is going to get the job done,” Ahmad said.
“The biggest problem we face is two-fold, the economy and jobs, jobs, jobs,” he said. “We have given all of our manufacturing jobs to other states, and my goal will to bring them back to California,” he said.
“When I came to California, 24 years ago, things were much different, I want to see that Golden State once again,” he said.
Sam,
I’m glad to see that people are taking an active roll in supporting the local economy of Cerritos. Your stance on job creation is truly inspiring.
Thank you Sam!
