  • Parking Ordinance says:

Parking Ordinances and RV Ordinance, only decreases diversity, alienates potential families with large family of cars and RV out of 90703; ABCUSD looses large families from moving in to city of Cerritos..

Where was the transparency this was never brought to CCC? Don’t think this is going to be too big budget savings, just eliminating service Day on Sunday for counter service, and eliminating two hours of citations is not much money. This is only a good faith vail to look good.

Cerritos is issuing between 35,000-60,000 parking tickets per yr, when there is only 15,000 homes and 50,000 residents. Something is wrong with this equation.

This parking is still costing $.5M and I think it needs to be analyzed, city always says it decreases crime, but we have no data> Overnight parking ordinance was approved in 1967 -68, when we had many non-built out vacant dairy neighborhoods and most families had only 1-2 cars. Now entire families have cars, business cars, car-pooling cars, in house service cars, etc. In addition, Cerritos has horrible public transportation, it is declining in bus transportation routes. Residents have to own cars-cars-cars. . Also, 60’s, was post WW2 era, cars were hard to purchase. 47% city is seniors, residents are living longer, so need cars and chauffeur services. Huber does not service city well, tired of being slammed for non payments by Chinese, who want a free bargain.

Only data, city issues excessive overnight parking permits on rainy nights, people don’t want to park their cars in the driveway during rain storms. Many people complained about overnight parking during the rain, because it was an inconvenience if you have to park your car on the street in order to get in and out of the garage, and then have to move the car from the street back into the driveway during rain storm.

RV parking ordinance is shambles and has chased RV owners out of the city, robbing city of millions of dollars in sales tax. Left w/ thousand of vacant wide RV side lots, trash collectors staging areas, thanks to bone head CCC of yesteryears.

Nearby Hunt beach, Rossmoor, Buena Park, Orange, Yorba Linda, Ana Hills, home owners pay huge premium for RV lots and have no restrictions for over night parking. Cerritos is one of the few 88 cities in LA county, which still reigns over property owners w/ archaic republican and HOA parking laws. 15,000 homes, Cerritos is home to less then 200 RV’s, where other cities, RV are increasing in ownership, hence bring in much need sales taxes.

Look at the negatives of 90703 parking ordinance. Driveways are kissing neighboring driveway, of concrete driveway, in order to park cars off of the street. Residents are parking on lawns, on walkway, on courtyard just to obey parking ordinance. Hoods will Look better, get cars off the driveway and parked on to the street, so properties are accessible 24 hrs/ 7 day for 911.
