So Coast Botanic Gardens, Palos Verdes. During the 1940s- 1950s, area known today at South Coast Botanic Gardens was once a public dump, plus a landfill of dirt. Conception of the Botanic Garden began in 1961 leading to what it is today. Landfill did not term out tell the 1990s, and at that time, sections of it was converted: Public park, Equestrian area, Parking lot, Tennis Courts, and a small section is developed into tract homes called Country Hills Estates.
