So Coast Botanic Gardens, Palos Verdes.

During the 1940s- 1950s, area known today at South Coast Botanic Gardens was once a public dump, plus a landfill of dirt. Conception of the Botanic Garden began in 1961 leading to what it is today. Landfill did not term out tell the 1990s, and at that time, sections of it was converted: Public park, Equestrian area, Parking lot, Tennis Courts, and a small section is developed into tract homes called Country Hills Estates.

There is a disposal Outlet valve, for the gas located under the landfill area, to release methane gas, from deep down below.

Can access the Gardens, from both Hawthorne and Crenshaw Boulevard, plus Rolling Hills Rd, between Pacific Coast Highway and Palos Verdes Drive North. It is a beautiful area and some of the areas have beautiful views: Santa Monica Bay, Malibu, Los Angeles, and Orange County. On a clear day you can see out into the San Fernando Valley from remote sections at the South Coast Botanic Gardens and also the San Gabriel mountains. Once in awhile you can see as far out as Palm Springs area on a clear day.

LA County Board of Supervisors, Janice Hahn, resides close to the Botanic Gardens; plus her dad was instrumental in developing Baldwin Hill Dam in to Kenneth Hahn Regional Park.
